It has been quite a while since I updated anything on here. Steve continues to work too hard. Drew is doing great in his junior year at LFO. He is writing for the school newspaper and continuing to study hard in his AP classes. Aaron is learning so much in Kindergarten! He is doing great and loves being with his friends each day. I am still working from home and staying busy with the family and church activities. Our church is holding our Fall Festival this Sunday with our trunk or treat so that will be a fun night. Aaron is going as a knight with the full armor of God. It is a really neat costume and you can tell he thinks he is the coolest thing when he has it on.
Speaking of church....pray for us as we have some difficult decisions to make. Our youth pastor resigned a couple of weeks ago after 6 years. I have to say, as a family we were sad to see him go but so happy and excited to see what the Lord is going to do through him as he accepted a Sr. Pastor postion with The Church at Catoosa. It is always hard to lose someone you've grown so fond of and who has meant so much to your family but we know God will reveal to us what He wants us to do and where He wants us to be.
I love this time of year. The fall colors are beginning to come out and the air feels so fresh and cool. It is this time of year when I just feel God's presence all around. My sister is having an Autumn Celebration at her house on Saturday with old fashioned games, a bonfire and hayride. She is going to way too much trouble but it will be worth it, I'm sure. The kids are really excited. What a busy weekend this is going to be! To anyone reading this....have a great weekend and God bless!

Where does the time go?
Well, another school year is underway. Drew is a Junior at LFO High School and has been in school for about 3 weeks now. Aaron will be entering Kindergarten next Tuesday at Fairview Baptist Kindergarten. It seems only yesterday that Drew was beginning his journey of school and now it is my little one's turn! Where does the time go? Steve is working as hard as usual. He is such a good husband and father. He has always worked so hard for our family. I know I don't let him know enough how much I appreciate what all he has done for us. He is the reason I have been able to realize my dream of being a stay home mom. To all you moms who are just starting your journey....enjoy the little things. They go by so fast!
A funny story that happened today with Aaron....we were going to the doctor for his vision and hearing screening for school. I was telling him what to expect and what would go on during the testing. I told him that they would probably ask him to take his hand and cover one eye and then tell them what he saw. He looked at me so seriously and said, "Well, mom, if I cover my eye with my hand all I'll see is my hand." I couldn't help but laugh as I explained to him that he would be looking through the eye that wasn't covered! Even he giggled when he realized what he had said. I love moments like that!

Let's get started...
Well, I got this idea from my cousin Tripp's wife. She started a wonderful blog on her family a few years ago (I just discovered it yesterday when I got to see and read about their new baby girl!) and I decided this would be a fun way to keep people posted on the happenings in and around the Hilliard clan. Hopefully this will be a way for me to get re-connected with some long, lost friends and maybe make some new ones along the way! Check back soon for some new updates....
